BLAVATSKY

And their love for Silent Hill in PS1

This project was made collaboratively for musical artist Blavatsky’s music video. Inspired by the low polygon and resolution graphics in PlayStation 1 games. Navigating ~ or rather slowly running into the unknown mist, with no direction in particular.

The main character was modeled using a low quantity of polygons, giving in result a similar aesthetic to those in old video game graphics.

Blavatsky was very specific as to the clothing design and props used in the video. So using their photos as a reference for the model it self as well as the clothing and accessories.

The first rough sketch looked something like this. Where it was imagined that the environment would take place in an abandoned building. Keeping in mind the reference from the Silent Hill game.

As a collaborative project I was in charge of all the 3D modelling, animating the character, UV mapping, applying finished textures and rendering. Texture designs and final video editing were done by another creative.
